Religious Education Topic (August)
On Sunday September 6, 2026, we will discuss the testimony of integrity. This will take place following the meeting for worship, and food will be provided as the discussion will extend over the lunch hour.
Meeting for Business
Our next meeting for business is scheduled for the third First Day (third Sunday) of month – that is, September 20, 2026 – following meeting for worship.
Over the course of the year, in addition to various agenda items related to the work of the meeting, we will answer the Queries for Monthly Meetings from the North Carolina Yearly Meeting – Conservative (NCYM-C). The queries are discussed by our Ministry & Nurture Committee, and then brought to the business meeting for further consideration. Our responses will be reported to the Yearly Meeting.
In September, we are addressing the following queries related to Meeting for Worship:
- Do we faithfully uphold our testimony for worship which is based on silent waiting, and for a free and unprogrammed ministry that may be shared by all?
- Is there a living silence in which we feel drawn together by the Light of Christ, the power of God in our midst; and is this inspiration carried over into our daily lives?
- Do we come to meetings for worship with hearts and minds prepared, open and ready to worship in silence or vocal ministry or prayer as the Inward Guide leads us?
- How does our meeting encourage and support those who may have a gift for ministry in worship?
- Do we strive to make our meetings for worship welcoming to those who are new to the practice of waiting worship?
